Anne Barker Hall

Anne Barker Hall is an associate with the law firm Pendleton & Sutton, where she practices primarily in the areas of:

  • Creditors' Rights
  • Collections
  • Landlord-Tenant Disputes

As a creditors' rights advocate, Anne assists commercial and retail creditors with all types of debt collections with particular focus on person and asset location. She has gained a unique understanding of pro se filings, which allows her to provide clients with helpful guidance and file proper motions. Anne's clients include credit card issuers, collection agencies, banks and other lenders, small business owners, doctors, dentists, medical clinics, hospitals, and government agencies.

In addition to collection law, Anne also assists with landlord-tenant transactions, representing landlords in handling a wide range of issues with tenants from evictions to rent collections.

Anne is a member of one of the leading creditors' rights trade associations, the Kansas Creditor Attorney's Association, where she recently completed a term as vice president. Anne is also a member of the Douglas County Bar Women's Attorney Association.

In the community, Anne is actively involved with the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and its Envoy Committee, and Government and Community Affairs Committee. She volunteers as a Douglas County court-appointed special advocate (CASA) for which she was recently named CASA of the Month (April 2010). She has an Elder Law Certificate from her alma mater, the University of Kansas School of Law, and provides pro bono legal counsel through the Kansas Elder Law Hotline.

Anne is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Kansas. She is a member of the Kansas and Douglas County bar associations. She received her B.A. from the University of Kansas, where she majored in political science, and her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. While in law school, she was a trustee legal intern for the Douglas County District Court. She joined Pendleton & Sutton in 2008.
